This was the only box that I bought from Memebox in the month of November. In my opinion the box is worth the amount paid for it. The products are all full size. I do not see any product that I would not be using, infact I have already stated using the Ariul Stress Relieving Purefull Cleansing Foam and it feels good on my skin. Will be boxing the Thanksgiving Box 2 soon.

Price and Quantity: This serum costs Rs.1499. It comes in a 30 ml bottle which lasts quite long. I use it twice daily (morning and evening) and I have been using it for last 1.5 month and I think I haven’t sued even 30% of the product. In this way it can easily last 5-6 months which makes the serum quite economical.

My views : My skin is dry so I am always in need of products which hydrate my skin. Since my facial skin is always prone to tiredness so, a boost in my skin is just what my skin wants. This serum claims to deliver both the promises. So, I took it without second thoughts. I came back from mall and cleansed my face at night and applied it on my bare face. As soon as I took out the product it felt very light. It is basically a cream translucent white in color, runny in nature which blends into the skin at one go. The cream has beautiful floral fragrance which stays for a while and then disappears.The cream post application blends into the skin quite fast. It gets absorbed instantly and skin feels soft and velvety to touch. There is an instant glow to the skin. But since the skin feels too light and I have dry skin so, I need some strong moisturizer to keep my skin hydrated. This serum doesn’t solve the hydration issue. Now coming to the long term I used this serum for 15-20 days religiously twice every day.I witnessed a subtle glow in my face which imparted a healthy look overall. I noticed mild spots disappearing with continuous use of 1 month. I cannot comment about pigmentation issues because I don’t have any major pigmentation. But this serum works fully to hide minor flaws. I have quite a few discoloration issues because of tanning and this serum worked effectively to protect them.

Rating : 4/5

Recommendation : In overall, this serum is good if you want to give a healthy boost to your skin. The price tag is more but the quantity is perfect. It is also effective in covering mild pigmentation.

I got to try this newly launched Lakme Hydrating Sunscreen.I have been using it for a while and here’s my review on it!!

MY VIEWS:  I have been using the Lakme 9 to 5 Hydrating Super Sunscreen for the last 5 days & have found it to be a good for people with dry, normal or combination skin. The sunscreen does not leave any white cast on the skin & keep it hydrated for long hours.Its a bit thick creamy texture however it does not take a lot to get absorbed in the skin. It leaves a nice even sheen to the skin which does not look oily at all.

RATING: 4.5/5

RECOMMENDATION: Overall,I am impressed by this sunscreen and recommend it to everyone.The packaging,formula and performance are great.

I was surfing through blogs and happen to find this very interesting box know as Glamabox at Renu’s Blog My Beauty Junction. The Glamabox is a beauty box from Hong Kong. I have had some not so great encounters with the so called Beauty Boxes however I am amazed by the products Glamabox offered. The Glamabox November 2013 costed me $22.50 including shipping. The box was packed very sturdy & nicely. I received my box within 5 days of dispatch. The Glamabox has the Alice in Wonderland theme designed by Agnes Bulloche.

—     Use a long lasting moisturizer twice a day, preferably on damp or just washed skin   (for better results)

—     Generally, skin cleansing should be limited to once or twice a day.

—     Do not use alcohol-based astringents, wipes and colognes.

—     Avoid frequent application of moisturizers especially on face as over doing it could clog the pores

—     Do not forget to wear your sunscreen, preferably a moisturizing form.

1)            Why the skin becomes dry in winters?

There are a number of reasons, both external and internal, why the skin gets dry during cold weather.

External Causes: Low humidity during winter enhances the drying effect on the skin. Exposure to dry wind, cold water or drying soaps further increases the skin’s dryness.

Internal Causes: Due to low temperature, the blood vessels supplying the skin become constricted. This reduces blood flow to the skin and sweat glands and oil producing glands in the body. When the water content of the skin diminishes both internally and externally; the skin cells shrink and dry. This produces flaking of the superficial skin cells. Most people, because they do not feel thirsty during winter, do not drink enough water or fruit juices during winter. This results in low volume of the circulating blood causing dehydration which is another cause for skin dryness.

2)            What are the easy tips to keep the skin healthy and not dry?

—     Drink adequate water

—     Eat balanced food containing all nutrients. Include vegetables, fruits, and fresh fish in your daily food intake.

—     Avoid alcohol and coffee. Both will dehydrate the skin and predispose to more drying and itching.

—     Avoid using harsh soaps. Soap free cleansers containing moisturizers are safe choices.

—     Using a humidifier inside the house will help keep the skin moist even during winter.

—     Exercise will help produce sweat and increase blood flow to the skin, which will improve the hydration of the skin.

—     Colloidal oat meal baths, in addition to their action of preventing water loss, also soothe the skin.

—     Apply a good moisturizing cream or lotion immediately after bath, before the body dries up. This will trap the moisture inside and keep skin soft and supple

 —     Mix honey and milk and apply on the face. Mix half-a-cup honey to your bath water for soft and smooth skin.

—     Aloe Vera also helps to remove dead skin cells and is soothing, healing, and moisturizing. Hence, aloe Vera gel can be applied topically on affected areas.

—     A facemask comprising of egg white and honey gently removes the tan from your face.

—     For oily skin type – Soak Multani Mitti and mint powder in yoghurt for 30 minutes and mix them well by beating. Apply it on face for 15 minutes and leave it to dry. Then wash off with lukewarm water. After that, rinse by cold water.

—     Use soap – free moisturizing cleansers for face as well as body

—     Can add emollient oil to bath water (1-2 drops per bucket of water)

—     Apply moisturizer immediately after patting dry

—     Use a moisturizing sunscreen on exposed body parts, 20 minutes before stepping out in the Sun

—     Use a moisturizer twice or thrice a day

—     Use a night cream (long acting moisturizer) on face and body before sleeping

—     For oily skin, use light moisturizer, those specifically suited for oily skin

—     For hair, use mild moisturizing shampoo and condition hair every time after shampoo

—     Trim the split ends

—     For frizzy hair, use leave-on condition

5)            Hair care during winters
