Lotus Herbals Whiteglow Skin Whitening & Brightening Gel Creme-A Review

I have been using the Lotus Herbals Whiteglow range(cleanser,scrub,microemulsion,gel creme) since 3 weeks.Here is my review of one of the products:

ABOUT:A revolutionary formula that ‘s enriched with known fairness agents like Grape, Mulberry, Saxifraga extracts and Milk enzymes. It blends the benefits of a gel and a crème and contains sunscreens to protect the skin from harmful UVA & UVB rays.

PACKAGING:I adore the packaging of the entire Whiteglow range and this is one of them.The gel creme is packed in a heavy glass jar with a shiny  silver cap.It feels classy although I wouldn’t call it a travel friendly product.

OVERALL :The Gel creme has the consistency of gel based cream as per the name.It is very light and get s absorbed into the skin quickly.Since,it is gel based,it leaves are cooling sensation on skin that is just great.I ise it daily after the whiteglow microemulsion.

The creme has mild fragrance similar to all the products of the whiteglow range,I really like the mild and delicate fragrance.

I like who it keeps my face moisturised but doesnt make it oily.It has spf25 which is an added benefit.

Okay!! so whitening and brightening-the two claims of the gel creme did and did not work for me.It did brighten up my face and it see my face to be more radiant but the whitening part is nowhere.Added to this,if the gel creme is overapplied,it begins to crumble and peel which is so irrirtating.I like the texture and feel of the creme and most of the times,i over apply it and I am left with flakes !! 😦

PROS: 

  • moisturising.
  • gel based formula that gets absorbed quickly.
  • lightweight.
  • didn’t make my T-zone oily.
  • i like the fragrance.
  • easily available.
  • lovely packaging.
  • has spf 25.
  • did brighten my skin tone.

CONS:

  • flakes terribly if over applied.
  • he price is continuously increasing from rs.260 to rs.295 and present at rs.325.
  • heavy glass jar body prone to breakage.
  • did not do anything on the whitening part.

RATING: 2.5/5

RECOMMENDATION:  Overall,i find it an average gel based creme.I love the texture and the feel but the way it flakes if over applied and no effect on whitening,makes it not so worthy of buying.
